Description

When Mumbai’s elite gather for a silent auction, the loudest sound is murder. Investigative journalist Kabir Joshi never planned to attend the high-society event at the Royal Opera House. But when a cryptic invitation lands at his doorstep, curiosity becomes compulsion. Hours later, a wealthy businessman lies dead in the VIP lounge—his throat cut, a chilling message left behind.

Detective Inspector Ananya Rao arrives on the scene to find an all-too-familiar face. The two haven’t spoken since the Mehta case—Mumbai’s last scandalous murder. But old scars fade fast when a new corpse enters the picture.

As monsoon rains soak the city, Kabir and Ananya chase a shadowy web of political corruption, offshore laundering, and vanished informants. At its center? Vikram Deshmukh—a man too powerful to accuse, too dangerous to ignore.

In a city that trades favors for silence and justice for spectacle, they’ll risk everything to uncover the truth.

Silent Auction Murder is a gripping noir mystery, steeped in atmosphere and steeped in the corruption of modern Mumbai. Fans of Attica Locke, John le Carré, and international political thrillers will devour this sharp, stylish, and unrelenting crime novel.

  1. Ella’s Mum

I’m reading #3 in this series and continuing to enjoy the unfolding story. I really like the way the characters are developing and changing as they dig deeper into the dark underbelly of Mumbai. The book is taking me to places I’ve only seen in movies and now want to see in person. You can smell the curries and feel the humidity. A fun way to experience a culture far away from my home.
